Why Does Reading Matter?
Reading is the foundation of many useful skills that we humans use to understand and interpret the world around us. Confident readers learn to interpret information, to read between the lines, to understand different viewpoints, to empathise with other people, to summarise large chunks of information, to make links between different parts of a text, to identify relationships between people, to challenge preconceptions and to communicate precisely and fluently.
