The Book Bunch
The Book Bunch

Mission Statement

I have always loved reading. Escaping into different worlds was a key part of my childhood, especially because I spent a lot of time moving schools and switching back and forth between the US and the UK. However, since I became a teacher I have met many people who don’t feel the same about reading. For them, reading is an uphill struggle, full of difficult words they don’t know, ideas they don’t understand and situations they can’t identify with. It is my mission to bridge the gap between the joy that books can give and the despair that comes from not understanding what you read. Through The Book Bunch's reading workshops pupils will be exposed to a range of challenging fiction texts that are presented in a fun and exciting way. I aim to show struggling readers that books are not obstacles to go around but are actually warm tropical lagoons to jump into and swim around in.
